Orlando Stacey Taylor, 72, of Allentown, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 in Arista Care at Meadow Springs in Plymouth Meeting.

Born in Reading on July 21, 1942, Orlando was the biological son of the late John and Katrina (Thomas) Taylor and adopted son of the late Fred and Mary (Minnieweather) Simms.

He attended St. Peter's Catholic School before joining the U.S. Army.

Orlando was employed with and retired from the Kraft Corp in Allentown for over 20 years as a fork lift operator. He was...

Orlando Stacey Taylor, 72, of Allentown, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 in Arista Care at Meadow Springs in Plymouth Meeting.

Born in Reading on July 21, 1942, Orlando was the biological son of the late John and Katrina (Thomas) Taylor and adopted son of the late Fred and Mary (Minnieweather) Simms.

He attended St. Peter's Catholic School before joining the U.S. Army.

Orlando was employed with and retired from the Kraft Corp in Allentown for over 20 years as a fork lift operator. He was a professional musician who traveled and performed throughout the country and he performed on National Television.

Left behind to cherish his memory are three children, Orlando P. Taylor of Harleysville, Camille R. Taylor-Jones and her husband, Darryl of Muhlenberg Twp. and Stacic Taylor of Allentown; six grandchildren; a brother, Darryl Simms and his wife Laura and a sister, Faye Simms-Brantley and her husband, Sam.

In addition to his parents, Orlando is predeceased by a daughter, Leticia L. Taylor.

A Home Going Service will commence promptly at 11:00am on Thursday, April 2, 2015 in St. James Chapel Church of God in Christ, 11 S. 9th St., Reading, PA 19602. Family and friends will be received in the church on Thursday from 10 to 11am. Burial will be in Berks County Memorial Gardens, Fleetwood.
