Edwin Francis Chimahosky 89, passed away November 21, 2016 in his residence. He is survived by his wife Josephine G (D'Agostino) of 47 years. Born in Minersville on August 7, 1927 a son of the late John and Mary (Sidlick) Chimahosky.

Edwin was a member of St Ignatius Loyla RCC and was a Navy WWII veteran where he served 7-25-45 on USS Oakland CL-95, ALNAV 161-46. Awarded the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Ribbon, American Theater Ribbon, WWII Victory Medal. Rank: Seaman 1st class. Discharged 8-14-46.

He was employed by Dana Corporation as crane operator for 42 years retiring 1989. After he retired, he persued master gardening, worked at Penn State Ag. Center 1991-1996.

Edwin was a member of Knights of Columbus and he was an avid Philadelphia Phillies fan and Eagles fan. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, polka dancing, watching birds, and most of all his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Edwin is survived by his children; Rosemary Chimahosky of Raritan, NJ., Michael and his wife Linda Chimahosky of Sinking Spring, Cathy and her husband Keith Smith of Flemmington, NJ., Kathleen and her husband Thomas Holben of East Petersburg, 6 grandchildren; Laura, Amy, Wesley, Kenny, Paige, Chad and 6 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Benjamin Chimahowski of Reading, and his sister Jean Lauck of Seltzer City. Edwin was predeceased by his brother Joseph.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday November 28, 2016 at 11am in St Ignatius Loyola RCC, 2810 St Albans Dr., Sinking Spring, PA 19608. Burial to follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park. A viewing will be Monday 930-11am in the church.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the church. Theo C Auman Funeral Home, Reading is entrusted with his service.
