Carol Ann Shomo, 78, passed away January 6, 2018, in her Sinking Spring residence surrounded by her family. She was born in Reading on February 15, 1939, a daughter of the late Norman J. and Mildred E. (Packard) Rothermel.

Carol was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Shillington, and a member of Good Sam Camping Club chapter #22, and a member of Calico Valley Jammers.

Carol was employed by Ibach's Seafood Restaurant in Shillington as a cook, then IGA in Shillington as a cook in the deli department for 20 years, and...

Carol Ann Shomo, 78, passed away January 6, 2018, in her Sinking Spring residence surrounded by her family. She was born in Reading on February 15, 1939, a daughter of the late Norman J. and Mildred E. (Packard) Rothermel.

Carol was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Shillington, and a member of Good Sam Camping Club chapter #22, and a member of Calico Valley Jammers.

Carol was employed by Ibach's Seafood Restaurant in Shillington as a cook, then IGA in Shillington as a cook in the deli department for 20 years, and later The Villa St Elizabeth as a cook until her retirement.

She was an avid organ and piano player and she loved to attend music festivals.

Surviving are her 2 daughters, Brenda Ann and her husband, Bruce Ginther, of Sinking Spring; Deborah Jean and her husband, Daniel Loope, of Enola, Pa.; her sister, Gloria Jean Glass and her companion, Albert Reppert, of Muhlenberg Township; 4 grandchildren: Charles Jaggers, Kristopher Jaggers, Brittany (Loope) Kyler and her husband, Denny, and Ryan Loope. Also surviving are 5 nieces and 2 nephews.

Carol was predeceased by her sister, Elaine Marie Weidner, in 2003.

Services will be Thursday, January 11, 2018, at 11 a.m. in Theo C. Auman Funeral Home, 247 Penn St., Reading. A viewing will be Wednesday, January 10, 2018, 6-8 p.m. and Thursday, 10-11 a.m. in the funeral home.

Inurnment will be Friday, January 12, 2018, at 1 p.m. in Forest Hills Memorial Park. Contributions may be made to the Animal Rescue League, 58 Kennel Rd., Birdsboro, PA 19508.
